Math Games

Math Games
develops the foundational skills that are required in order to make math fun (and we will have fun doing it). Math is only “fun” when problems can be solved accurately and quickly. That is math success, and success just feels good – it’s fun!

Math, at any level, is just combining and separating numbers in various ways. To do this skillfully requires logical thinking, mental math skills, and quick and accurate execution of math facts (addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division). We will use dice, cards, flash cards, board games, and timed drills to aid in developing these skills.

Math Games meets for one hour. (See schedule .) The average student should plan to devote approximately one hour or less each week to homework, depending on the student’s aptitude for math fact memorization. Quarterly progress reports will be issued.
