Latin for Children 1

$425

Curriculum

Latin for Children is an award-winning curriculum that introduces 4th-6th grade students to the Latin language, building grammar and vocabulary skills and exploring English derivatives. Originally published in 2001, Primer A was revised in 2017. The updated version, now printed in full color, has been enhanced with beautiful illustrations and with images and paintings of ancient Roman culture. An adventure story, "Along the Appian Way," has also been added.

In the Latin for Children classes, we will use chanting, singing, and games in addition to written work to help students learn the material in a lively, interactive way perfectly suited to the grammar stage.

Students in Latin for Children 1 will be introduced to Latin nouns, verbs, and adjectives, committing to memory various paradigms upon which they will draw for years to come in their Latin studies. They will also begin to develop translating skills. We will cover approximately half of the Primer A text.
